A FLOOD OF POWER

TODAY'S SCRIPTURE
"So [Israel] came up to Baal–perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal–perazim [Lord of breaking through]"
(I Chronicles 14:11, AMP)

TODAY'S WORD from Joel and Victoria Olsteen
Notice, David likened God's power to the bursting forth of waters. In other words, he described it as a flood. He was saying that when the God of the breakthrough shows up and releases His power, it will be like a flood of His goodness, a flood of His favor, a flood of healing, a flood of new opportunity.

Think about how powerful water is. Three or four feet of water can pick up a huge car that weighs thousands of pounds and move it all around. I've seen on the news whole houses floating down the river in big floods. Nothing can stop the force of that water! Anything that's in its way is moved!

You may have difficulties that look extremely large, obstacles that look impassable, dreams that look unobtainable. But know this; when the God of the breakthrough releases a flood of His power, nothing can stop it. You need to get ready not for a trickle, not for a stream, not for a river. Get ready for a flood of God"s favor, a tidal wave of His goodness, a tsunami of His increase! Dare to believe that God is going to overwhelm you with victory in every area of your life today!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Heavenly Father, I invite You to overwhelm me with You today. Take over every area of my life; my thoughts, my attitude, my body. Flood me with Your healing, favor, and strength today as I surrender my entire being to You. Amen.

Good Morning Nation!!!

Thanks Jav..I needed that reminder today.

As I leave North Carolina headed back home to Ohio from baby girl's orientation. She’s all orientated and registered for classes!!! (Yeah!)

I reflect on the promise of God that my prayer for this young woman would be answered. That prayer was that not only would she attend the school of her choice but that money would be provided somehow for her to go!! (mama has no money b/c pappa still not working FT after a year! But GOD is still in control!)

I so proud that she will continue to carry the banner of Jesus with her. I don’t have any fears of letting her go on to be the young woman that God has intended her to be. I thank God for loaning her to me these last 18 years. And when I release her into the world, I'll find comfort in knowing that her heavenly father will continue to watch over her.

Peace and Blessing.

That reminder was for me as well. I'm in the same place you are. My daughter will have orientation in a couple of weeks. I'm on a set income with my disability. But God is Good! He has shown my kid and I so much favor with family & friends. While we were vacaying in La. last week, a friend gave her a mini fridge for her dorm...that saved us about $80 on up. She was blessed monetarily for graduation...the $200 dorm deposit was handed to her for graduation from her godmother, who didn't even know I was trying to figure out where that dorm deposit would come from.

I was trying to figure out how I could financially be able to celebrate her graduation...especially with my mom no longer here, because that was the kind of stuff she would help with. But we had an awesome celebration that I didn't pay a dime for...between my son (who gave us use of his home to celebrate), brother, sister, and my daughters godparents, it was all taken care of. I didn't even ask them...they asked me what I needed. My mom's younger brother even had me crying like a baby (and I'm not a crier) when at graduation he pulled out of his wallet money for her and then he went back in his wallet pulled out a even more money and said to me, "...and this is for you for being a good mom". I was too done! Everyone, including my uncle, thought I was crying because my daughter had graduated, which I shed a few tears for that too, but @ that point I was so touched by what my uncle had done, I became overwhelmed. See my mom would have done the same thing, had she still been alive.

Sorry, my response was so lengthy, but when God blesses us and shows us favor, you gotta give him praise and share with others HIS goodness & faithfulness. Sometimes I get mad at myself for worrying about how I'll do this and that, because as much as God has had my back over the years...has made a way out of no way, I should have that walking on water kind of faith. See when we keep our minds stayed on Jesus, when we go about Kingdoms business...God goes about our business. HIS word says he would be a husband to the husbandless and a father to the fatherless, he would never leave us or forsake us. The word says, the righteous are not forsaken or his descendants begging for bread. Oh JESUS! Now I gotta go shout......

Jav.

I don't post alot in here cause Im trying to get thru my tests, take care of the family, etc.. etc... etc.... LOL

But I wanted to tell you that I do read your Sunday inspirations still. I told you before, Im going thru alot right now. Both my husband and I are not working. And money is very scarce. God is so GOOD! We're struggling but not really. Our bills are a little behind but we haven't had any disconnections. Some how some way the money is always there. God is seeing to it that we are getting by. He's seeing to it that our bills are paid. Our rent too. Im taking classes at the college. My kids are making new friends (one's they actually like!) Im in a good place now. Im not complaining because I know there are those that are less fortunate then me, that are living on the streets with no where to turn. Im one of the lucky few. We don't have much but what we have is a blessing. We have a roof over our heads, food to eat. That's more than what we could ever ask for.

And I owe it all to our Almighty Father in Heaven. Thank you God for your vessel. She's such an inspiration!

Well my goodnessJune 27, 2009 @ 4:22pm
I need to throw my 2 cents in here in too!

VB we were in the same situation 4 years ago, after I began having complications with pregnancy and was put to bed and my husband was looking for work as well. He spent most of the year substitute teaching and of course when school year was over, he was out of work again. I thank God he gave me the mind to sign up for short term disbaility at work but that of course is NEVER what you normally bring home just 50%, so needless to say, it wasnt what we had.

WE NEVER EVER in all that time, had anything tunred off, the rent was paid on time EVERYTIME, we never went without anything and when our baby girl was born she had need of NOTHING, anything and everything an infant could need or even want she had it.

I know it gets to be discouraging especially when you look at your babies and think that you are less of a parent because you cant give them the extras, but this is the time to let them know they are truly loved even when they dont get to have the things they WANT.

So I pray that you are encourgaed in knowing that you are not alone in this struggle, but more importantly as my Granny used to say "trouble don't last always". This to shall pass and even while you are in the midst of it, tell people how good God is to you, our measure of faith and trust in Him grows and so do we in these situations.

I will be praying for some employment for you both and that you two work in concert with each other and encourage one another when the other feels down. It does not seem like a lot but it means a whole lot especially for your husband knowing that even with the "for worse" part you have his back! (Anyway that gets to be a whole other convo...LOL)

Keep the faith doll!!!Smile

Let me piggy back off of you Alicia and say Angee you need pray for yourself and your kids, but ESPECIALLY for your husband. Mine has been unemployed for over a year now, working temp when he can. He is depressed. Not to throw out dollars but he makes 80% less then what he made in 2007. We were at one point 3 months behind on the mortgage and he is currently 2 months behind on his car which is in my name....but guess what (God Got us!!!) He KNOWS God has GOT US, but it hard for him to in his eyes "not provide" for his family. I count it a blessing that I still have a good paying job and can pay all our bills. Yet he feels less a man. He's made comments about being better off dead and stuff like that....(I've warned him about speaking negative things into ones life!!!) you know the saying be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it!!!!

In the final analysis of it all...if they came and took the car, the house and everything in it. I would still be praising God, because EVERYTHING I owe comes from God, and if they take, then I know...that God just has something better!

Be Blessed and STAY encouraged!

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend thus far. Even though this week has been filled with a lot of grief and turmoil, considering that we have lossed three great people this week. And as of yesterday we can make that four with the passing of Billy Mays. I pray for all their families. Im also praying for Diva Alicia as well. I hope everyone enjoy the rest of their weekend, hope everyone stays safe and be BLESSED!! Because as of this week it is becoming very clear that life is too short and you should not waste a moment of it!! I just had to let all of this off my chest with all the death occuring this week!!
Much Love Nation,
