| WEEKEND INSPIRATION 8/15-16 | August 15, 2009 @ 1:17am | JEWEL DIAMOND TAYLOR TALKING OUT LOUD...
Yes, my web site is entitled DO NOT GIVE UP.net and I am branded as the speaker who teaches, "Do not give up." But sometimes you may choose the wrong project or person. Some people may stay too long on a dead end job or a dead end relationship. They may fear uncertainty of the unknown or fear what the critics would say. Some people don't listen to their intuition when all the red flags are warning that it is time to escape, let go and quit without guilt. Sometimes you have to quit and get out while out you are ahead. Not being able to discern when it's time to quit can cost you. Quitting when it's wise should not be confused with a "do not give up" message. Wisdom will help you to know when it's time to quit or stick with a person, project, pursuit, your plans or place of employment. Don't confuse persistence with insistence. There are some people and circumstances that you can not control. Wisdom comes as you learn to let go of projects, people or perplexing situations and give them to God. There are some relationships, pursuits, projects and places of employment that can cost you if you stay in it too long. Yes, you should persist with your goals and self-improvement. Yes, you should not be easily be defeated or distracted. The questions I pose to you today are, "Will you persist on worthy pursuits and people? Do you have the courage to stop insisting and pushing as you keep running into walls or resistance? Can you discern when to know that your efforts and persistence will yield reward in the future? Can you discern when you have reached a limit, a dead end and your pride/ego won't allow you to let go? During your times of insistence and frustration ... remember the Serenity Prayer. There is a time to quit and there are times you need to hear "Don't give up." Quit smoking, gossiping, wasting time and giving your body, money, power and peace of mind away to people and pursuits that only rob, destroy and drain you. Quit a project, job or relationship that is abusive or not lined up with your values and vision. Milk is good until it's expiration date. Sometimes people stay way too long after the expiration date and everything becomes sour. Have you stayed too long or have you been distracted or unfocused causing you to give up too soon on worthy pursuits?
The following was sent by an unknown author. These are great reminders to teach about the right times to quit.... 1) Quit arguing with people about the same old foolishness! Respect their position and keep it moving! 2) Quit telling people your secrets w hen you know they are not going to keep them!
And if you keep telling them, then quit getting mad when they tell your secrets!
3) Quit trying to pull people on your journey who don't want to travel with you! Either they believe in you and value you ...or they don't!
4) Quit complaining about things you can't and won't change! I am not working on being a size 6 or a model...so instead of complaining about the weight charts, I negotiated with my doctor for a "comfortable weight for me." Forget the charts! I created my own "healthy weight!"
5) Quit gossiping about other people! Minding our own business should be a full time job!
6) Quit blaming each other for things that in the big picture aren't going to matter 3 weeks from now! Talk solutions...and then implement them!
7) Quit eating things you know are not good for you! If you can't quit...eat smaller portions! (I know...this is hard for me too!)
8) Quit buying things when we know we can't afford them! If you don't have self control, then quit going to the stores! Quit charging things, especially when you don't NEED them!
9) Quit staying in unhealthy relationships! -It is not okay for people to verbally or physically abuse you! So quit lying to yourself! -It is not okay to stay in the marriage for the children! Ask them and they will tell you that they really would prefer to see you happy and that the misery you and your spouse/partner are living with is affecting them!
10) Quit letting family members rope you into the drama! -Start telling them you don't want to hear it! -Quit spreading the drama! -Quit calling other relatives and telling them about your cousin or aunt! Go back to #5 - minding your own business should be enough to keep you busy!
11) Quit trying to change people! IT DOESN"T WORK! I am still working on this because I really see a world of possibilities for others and try to convince them to see and want differently for themselves! Quit cussing people out when you know that they are just being the miserable and jealous people that they are!
12) Quit the job you hate! Start pursuing your passion and purpose. HINT: find the job that fuels your passion before you quit!
13) Quit volunteering for things that you aren't getting any personal fulfillment from anymore! -Quit volunteering for things and then failing to follow through with your commitment! 14) Quit listening to the naysayers! Quit watching the depressing news if you are going to live in the doom and gloom of it all!
15) Quit making excuses about why you are where you are or why you can't do what you want to do!
16) Quit waiting on others to give you the answers...and start finding the answers for yourself!
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEKEND NATION! |

Okay so why am I feelin "salty" that she hasnt called me? I called her from WV and she was like "what do you want mom!" OMG....Who the heck does this child think she is!!! I'm paying her darn tuition!!!

I havent done my happy dance yet because this girl left her room a reck!!!! My motto is...anything left on the floor goes to the goodwill... ....they know the deal..If "I" have to clean their rooms...anything not in is proper place goes byby!!! tu)

| Hey 80s | August 16, 2009 @ 10:38am | I know I've been M.I.A. for a minute but I see that your daughter is going to schooling NC. And yes it is HOTTTT here. You can give her my information if you like. I can get to her faster than you can if she needs something. Where in NC is she? Congrats on getting her off to college! Parents don't get their due when it comes to that accomplishment. Ttyl

| Ladies | August 16, 2009 @ 10:50am | For those of you who wanted to join me in myspace and read my story blogs, the address is: myspace.com/Alexis.Williams
The page has been created and I will begin posting stories in the next couple of weeks. Please go ahead and send your friend requests so I can get you setup. Thanks. Smooches!
P.S. I hear there's talk of a Cabin Reunion. Should I be writing a story for this event. Of course it would be posted right here in the Nation exclusively. Let me know.

| August 16, 2009 @ 12:13pm | Okay, I know some of you may think I am the nuttiest mother of all nutty mothers!
I have been counting down from the last bell of the last school year until the first day of school. Sad, ain't it?! I said I was gonna pray that that day gets here quickly! Im sick of summer! It's too hot and boring! My children and I did have a lot of fun though. We went to Splashtown, had a ball! My fears of something happening to my children were a little overplayed, but I was cautious. The first time we went, I kept a tight reign on them, not allowing them to leave my line of sight. They had fun, although Mama was a tight-wad! LOL
The next time we went, we took my husband. My hubby has a fear of water parks, having seen some of his friends drown when they were kids. And we had just lost one of our children's friends to drowning. But Joe, that's my hubby, had a blast! For a man who keeps a tight reign on his kids at home, he told ME to loosen up and let the kids have fun. HUH?! lol! Okay but we had a ball, and now we are going again next week. COOL! Not just that, we went to Dave and Buster's for dinner twice and had a blast!
Okay now with all that said, Im anticipating school starting next Monday. I can't wait to get the kids back into school! I love them dearly. I really do! But these kids worked my nerves all summer! Now keep in mind I love my babies. But I told them I would tear that A&& up if they didn't stop fighting each other and the constant tattling about the littlest things was wreckin' on a mama's nerves!
All I can say is Hallelujah! Thank You Jesus! August 24th is coming soon! Not fast enough for this mother. The only thing I know Imma have a problem with is the fact that the kids have to walk to school. And guess who's gotta walk them!? But it's all good. I walk them, make sure they get where they need to go, then I walk to MY school which is right across the street from my apartment. YAAAY ME!
