Weekend Inspiration 8/22-23August 22, 2009 @ 12:19am

BE STILL.....

Are you running up against walls of disappointments, obstacles and setbacks? Are you used to being in charge and always finding solutions? Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed and impatient? Is it difficult for you to take your hands off your problems and allow God's power and promise to bless you? Are you used to being in control, rescuing others or running around in a state of frenzy multi-tasking to put out your personal fires? When I feel like this, I turn to... Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God." This reminds me to take off my superwoman cape and make room for God's supernatural power to give me peace and patience.

I realize being still is not always easy for many of you, especially when you feel every one and every thing is depending on you. When you are running out of breath, running out of time, running out of ideas and running out of answers...be still. Take a deep breath. Be still. The Lord is saying..."I got you. Let go. Take your hands off your pain, past and problems. Trust me."

The world is not going to come to end because you take a break. Before you have a meltdown ... shut it down and go within to hear the voice of God. Recharge your battery. Reboot and relax your mind. Find your joy again and count your blessings. Believe you will receive your guidance and breakthrough. I have learned that it takes a great measure of prayer and patience to get to the other side of "my going through" to peace in the valley. Believing that you can trust your self creates confidence. Believing you can trust the Lord creates faith.

GOOD MORNING NATION!August 22, 2009 @ 12:33am

I pray that you ALL had a great night's sleep and that you are all experiencing the 4 R's...rested, refreshed, rejuvenated and ready for the weekend.

Alright, I have to admit, I was feeling very encouraged all week after about a month or longer of depression. Then on yesterday(friday if you are reading this after midnight) I had a lot to come against me. I mean that old devil STAYS on his job. He tries to discourage at every good turn. Anyway, the inspiration above is what I needed to read/hear/see as I was going thru on yesterday.

HOWEVER, the inspiration I'm about to post is what I felt in my spirit all week to share for the weekend inspiration. So, maybe there are some of you that had a week like mine...feeling uplifted all week, and then the devil had to throw his fiery darts in the mist at the end of the week.

So to those that are feeling up against a wall, the above inspiration is for you. Hold on, cuz trouble don't last always. Praise HIM ANYHOW!!!! Thank you LORD!

For those who are feeling encouraged...keep praising HIM, cuz he's about to do a new thing in your life. A shifting is about to take place! GLORAAAAAY!

WELCOME TO OUR NEWEST MEMBER KATHY127!!!!

DO A NEW THING!August 22, 2009 @ 12:44am
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.

Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

As you make room for God to do a new thing in your life, you must have the courage to do a "new thing" for yourself. Growth requires pressing, consistency, dedication, purpose and courage. Don't wait until you are sick and tired of being sick, tired, broke, lonely, stuck, abused, invisible, frustrated and desperate.

It's time to do a new thing!
If you have been quiet... it's time to speak up.
If you have been isolated and shy... it's time get out, socialize, network and meet new people.
If you have been a spender... it's time to be a saver.
If you have been discouraged... it's time to get up and be grateful.
If you have been a receiver, it's time to be a giver.
If you've been procrastinating... it's time to take action.
If you've been angry and holding a grudge, it's time to let go.
If you have never ventured beyond your local area... it's time to travel.
If you think it's too late for you...it's time to change your thinking and self-worth.
If you have been stuck on stupid... it's time to walk in wisdom and integrity.
If you have always been the giver... it's time learn how to r eceive.
If you seek escape and comfort in the wrong places and things...it's time to learn how to
cope in healthy and smarter ways.
If you receive invitations to gossip or argue...it's time to decline the invitation.
If you are always wearing your superwo(man) cape... it's time to delegate.
If you worry too much... it's time to start trusting God.
If you are always late and unorganized... it's time to start being punctual and reliable.
If you have been prideful, closed and defensive... it's time to be teachable.
If you are afraid to learn how to drive, use the computer, learn a new language, go salsa dancing, start your own business, tell the grown children to move out, go on an audition or interview or find a new church home that really feeds your spirit, teaches the word of God and blesses the community...it's time to do a new thing!

God wants to do a "new thing" in your life...but first you have to rid yourself of clutter, fear, limited thinking, poor choices and clinging to what is familiar, safe and comfortable. Ready...set...G R O W !

I had a question that I want to run by you guys. On
SOC message board,one poster(a sistah,I believe)suggested
that fans of AnJ are holding DW to a different standard
of behavior, for his character Jesse, because of his race.
Do you agree with that assertion(strong statement)or not?
To a degree,I do agree, but only because there are so few
examples of black people and good black people on TV,
these days. Now,granted that's not DW's fault or respons-
ibility to address or rectify(solely,anyway)but,still,
the reality is what it is and it would be nice if the
few good examples of black men and women, that exist in
TV,could stay that way.jmo.
To be sure,if one is an actor,he/she would want to
play a variety of characters, with a variety of emotions
and motivations, but because DW and DM are a LEGENDARY
couple, and AA at that,it would just be nice,if we could
keep them in some sort of bubble, and never have to see
them change for the worse. As Pratt has had them do.Angry
IDK. I guess I'm just going on like this because I'm
bummed and, quite frankly, sick to my stomach over what
very much, seems like the beginning for the end,for a be-
loved couple.Sad
But,getting back to my original question, are we,Jesse and
Angie's fans,holding them to a different standard,because
they are AA or is it just because,AN wrote two characters
of color, with CHARACTER,that we just would like to have
maintained,as such. For me,it's both. What do you say?

For me, it's both as well. JnA were created at a time when leading roles for AA were stereotyped. Yet AN saw the vision of adding racial diversity along with DEPTH and CHARACTER which truly endeared them to soap fans but AAs in particular. I agree that their comeback is being destroyed by Pratt and wonder what other powers that be have noticed and said anything about it.True, real characters, like people, lose their way sometimes but let's face it, could we see them writing Joe and Ruth that way--where anything goes? I don't think so. I mean it is possible to be young and principled. Thanks for posing the question. Now, what if anything can fans do short of not watching the show?
