Luke 8:40 (Amplified Bible)-Now when Jesus came back [to Galilee], the crowd received and welcomed Him gladly, for they were all waiting and looking for Him.
Like the crowd in Galilee, there are times when we are looking for God. Waiting, expecting, and needing HIM to show up and show out in our lives. Then he appears and we are so estatic, because most often when we are searching for him, it's at the worse times in our lives--we usually have a dire need.
Luke 8:49-While He was still speaking, a man from the house of the director of the synagogue came and said [to Jairus], Your daughter is dead; do not weary and trouble the Teacher any further.
Now, we all know that God has his own timing. God likes to test our faith. Sometimes, just like with the above situation, on his way to fix our need, he stops to help somebody else that may have a more important need. And then, sometimes he helps folks that we think their need was no where near as urgent as ours. But He's only testing our faith and building our patience level. After waiting and waiting, praying and crying out and nothing seems to be happening, some people will start telling you it's too late. They will tell you God's not going to show up and not to even bother praying about it anymore, because your situation is DEAD!
Luke 8:50--But Jesus, on hearing this, answered him, Do not be seized with alarm or struck with fear; simply believe in Me as able to do this], and she shall be made well.
But remember a delay does NOT always mean NO! And you will know it's a delay because God's spirit will give you that nudge, that gut feeling in your belly that's telling you, don't give up, keep praying, believing and waiting for Him to show up. Just as he told Jairus...just believe in me to do the dang thing...paraphasing of course.
Luke 8:51--And when He came to the house, He permitted no one to enter with Him except Peter and John and James, and the girl's father and mother.
Sometimes you just can't allow peeps in the room that can't stand in agreement with you, that God will do what seems impossible in your life. If God gave you a word...if HE gave you that unction in your Spirit, you can't let the negative vibes in the room. The negative folks are only going to plant seeds of doubt in your mind about what you know, that you know, that you know God said he would do. Once the doubt is planted, then you start to waver. God says the man who wavers shouldn't expect anything from him. (James 1-5-8) Only allow those who will stand in agreement and speak HIS Word over your life in the room.
Luke 8:52-55-- And all were weeping for and bewailing her; but He said, Do not weep, for she is not dead but sleeping. And they laughed Him to scorn, knowing full well that she was dead. And grasping her hand, He called, saying, Child, arise [from the sleep of death]! And her spirit returned [from death], and she arose immediately.
In conclusion, sometimes our situation seems dead, like theres no hope at all. People will laugh at us and call us crazy for still believing in what we know God told us. But the word says, "whoever believes in HIM, will not be ashamed". (Romans 10:11) If you just stand, you will see the great things that the Lord will do before your very eyes. (ISamuel 12:16) Out of no where...in the twinkling of an eye, in the midnight hour, if you faint not He will show up and resurrect that dead situation in your life. God is not a man that lies, he if said it, his word cannot return unto him void.
