I'm inclined to agree. Joe was Angie's mentor and the Hubbards were like family to them. It's only fitting they get to say a proper goodbye too

you would think they would have done the goodbye with the folks closest to them, including the Hubbards....shoots Joe was the first person to care for Frankie when he was sick and called Angie, SMH
