TAD AND DIXIE'S TIMELESS ROMANCE
Is it possible to bring closure to 19 years of romance in the blink of an eye? All My Children will try to do just that May 29-30 when the spirit of the late Dixie (Cady McClain) lays a kiss on her hospitalized soul mate, Tad (Michael E. Knight). "Within that instant they travel to a place where time has no relevance and they live an entire lifetime together," reports Emmy winner Knight. "We see what would have happened if Dixie hadn't died, if Tad had been there for the birth of their daughter,Kate, if they'd lived into their eighties. It ends up very 'On Golden Pond.'" AMC exec producer . Julie Hanan Carruthers admits she blew it by letting her writers whack Dixie last year in a serialkiller plot. "This is for all the fans who wonder 'What if...?'" Carruthers says. "It's an opportunity to make good on the Tad/ Dixie promise so that the I characters and the audience can let go." If all this doesn't have you blubbering, wait untilJune 3: That's when Tad-who's been searching years for Kate-is finally reunited with his little girl.
"To love and to cherish until death do us part. That ain't going to happen this time." -- Jesse to Angie during their vows.
