Well we had the beautiful Angie and the handsome Jesse on y'day's show. Let's see if Ratt can do that 2 consecutive days. re)

Miss Sweeney.
I have never written a tv show. I have been compelled to write as of late because of the situation on All My Children; particularly the writer Charles Pratt. It saddens me to think that he has stooped this low with his portrayal of the women on that show. I, along with many of the fans, and particularly ALL of my female friends that watch AMC, do not like what Mr. Pratt is doing. Especially to what he has done to the Hubbard family-from jesse's secret other life (to which none of us believe the Jesse Hubbard of twenty years ago would do!) to Angie's ranting and raving and how Pratt has butchered her, changing her from the strongest woman on the show, that survived the death of the love of her life, raised her child, moved on despite the pain of that loss and became a strong woman emotionally from that, and had her cave in and played Miss Celie to Rebecca. Having their son disrespect them in every turn of event!!!! What happened to the happily ever after reunion?! There was so many stories they could have gone with. Angie dealing with Jesse's sudden return, Jesse dealing with Frankie going off to war, one of them could have gotten sick.... something to that affect...
My point is, Miss Sweeney. You were voted one of the most powerful women in the world. Please clean up this mess and get Charles Pratt to clean up that show. If this continues, I guarantee that you will loose alot of AMC's fan base! One just needs to read the message boards at Soapcentral.com and ABC.com ANd Angieandjesse.com to see the disappointment of the fans regarding the recent story lines.
And quite frankly, alot of the fans (FEMALE FANS!!!!) did NOT appreciate Pratts comments that behind a strong man is a strong woman! The man has that in reverse. If it weren't for the women who watch the soaps, Mr. Charles Pratt Jr. would not have a job!

| Thanks Ladies | March 6, 2009 @ 2:08pm | I will defiantly construct a letter to Ms.Sweeney. It’s obvious that she is totally oblivious to the decline in the show’s protryal of females. Here’s a quick synopsis of the negativity associated with AMC’s female characters.
Reese: Lesbian, unsure if she still has feelings for the opposite sex. As a result she get’s thrown through a glass door—but refuses to press charges against her male assailant….
Krystal: Extremly permiscuious. No real sense of self worth. Currently being drugged by David, basically his sex slave. In essence, Krystal’s moral compass is non existent.
Annie: Her self-worth went out the window once Ryan decided he never really loved her, she went off on the deep end, unable to differentiate between reality and make-believe. An extremely weak female, willing to lose her child and her life to keep a man.
Erica: Simply put---a high class call girl—watching her on screen is like getting a tooth pulled with no Novocain-painful.
Amanda: A poor excuse of a female, no integrity—and to add insult to injury, she’s pregnant…… So, the cycle of female self destruction continues to the next generation. God help us! Where’s the women’s movement when you need them.
The only true redeeming female on All My Children, is Angie Hubbard. She is the only character that hasn’t slept with enough men in Pine Valley to require the sprinkling of holy water to cleanse her female anatomy.

Leola ~ This is true but Angie is loosing her quality too. He's ruining her slowly but surely. Angie has become an obsessive (about all things David), criminal, borderline unethical character. He had a woman who has always been portrayed as strong cave to her husband's lover & let him off the hook.
Lets not forget Taylor.... A strong soldier who fought in Iraq. Only to have her stoop so low as to fake paralysis to get Brot to stay w/ her.
And KWAK has always been a liar & a whore but she was never stupid or naive.
Amanda didn't take crap from anyone. Some said she was on her way to being like her momma. Minus the insanity.
They all have been ruined slowly but surely under Pratt's writing & Julie's producing. I add her in their b/c she herself said that she has input in story ideas. |

Two points concerning your letter
to Ms. Sweeney that I would take issue
with. 1) I,personally,do not have a
problem with Franklin getting in Jesse's
face about Rebecca because he was the
only one to hold Jesse remotely account-
able(and in doing so was regarded by
most,on this board,as disrespectful
and on other boards,as someone who need-
ed to "grow up and get over it because
it was 20 years ago".) He was doing
what Pratt didn't allow Angie to do.
(Because he's a sexist and racist)
So I had and still have no problem with
Frankie speaking to his father,in an
angry tone. Yes,the Bible does say to
honor our father and mother,but it also
states(not as a commandment)that parents
shouldn't provoke their children to
wrath. I would suggest a parent lying
for months to his wife and son about
not having a child and "baby mama"
for 19-20 years,qualifies as provoking
to wrath. So Frankie,IMO,is justified.
And 2,as far as Pratt doing the right
thing by this show and the women on it,
don't hold your breath. I would in-
form Ms. Sweeney how you feel as a wo-
man and an AA and Pratt's depiction of
you. And pray that she hears you and
the rest of us and fires both FRONS
and PRATT!!! ASAP! |

| March 6, 2009 @ 4:02pm | The disrespect I was speaking of was not about Frankie's response to Jesse. That was well deserving in my opinion. Frankie felt abandoned by his father when he discovered Natalia! THAT"S far from what I was speaking about.
What I was talking about was Frankie's disrespect of Angie when he brought his hooker girlfriend into her home, IN HER DAUGHTER'S BED!!! AND Then didn't check the tramp when she opened her mouth!!! Then at the precinct right after his arrest! That's what I was talking about. What CHILD would ever talk to his parents that way!!! And what black woman would put up with her SON bringing another woman into HER HOME and then let the *&^%$ speak to her they way Randi did?!/

Girl this show is on a slippery slide to no where! They are idiots and think the fans dont matter! The ratings tell the real story! It's so sad ridiculous how the show has been changed for the worse! And ITA with the comments concerning how the women are portrayed on the show!
